Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to remove established rock from a reef tank and break/cement it in a new form?

I'm going to be picking up a used running tank this weekend and would like to do a somewhat NSA rock scape.

Or am I better off buying new rock and starting fresh?

Thanks in advance

yes, just keep it out of the water for the shortest time possible, keep returning it to the water in between hammer blows lol

Yeah I’ve done this multiple times. Definitely better to plan it out and do it in sections so you don’t have to keep all the rock out of the water. You might get a mini cycle/crash anyways but not a big deal.
