Breaking in a DIY skimmer

Hi Everyone,

Any idea how long it takes to break in a DIY skimmer?

I put it in today and this is how much its foaming up. I'm assuming with time it will foam more and change colour.

Thanks !!! The whole setup is majority DIY. It's my first time doing saltwater, so I thought I'd see if I'm gonna enjoy and able to commit to the hobby first. It's also helping me understand the intricacies of each component of the hobby.

Any idea how long it will take for the skimmer to break in being DIY? Most durations listed online is for proprietary skimmers.

I would think as quick as a couple days (or quicker) can you raise the water level or bubble level a bit?

Yes I can submerge the skimmer lower to raise the water level. As for the bubbles, the pump and valve are at max.

That's pretty cool if it starts to work in a couple of days... I'll keep an eye on it.
