Breaking in bubble magus curve 5 dc

Hi I just recently bought and setup the skimmer in my sump and it is overflowing like crazy even on the lowest setting (max). I just want to make sure this is normal breaking in process and any tips is appreciated. How long will it take?

The skimmer is not that deep at all and I tried elevating but even then the pump is almost near the water line.

Mine did the same when I first put it into the sump.
It sits in about 9.5 - 10 inches of water, I have it set just under the max. Also check your air line next to the adjustment knob. The red cap on the airline should have a tube that feeds into the chamber, make sure that's nice and straight in the center. I tweaked mine and didn't realize and it started to make mine over flow.

When I got my Bubble Magus NAC 5.5, I actually put it in a 5 gallon bucket with RO water and 2 cups on Distilled white vinegar. Let it run over night and it worked fine the next morning. Not sure it that is the correct way of doing it, but it has been going strong for 2 years now.

Thanks guys, I will try tweaking airline, if not the vinegar bath and let you know if problem solved!

Mine took a couple of days even after a vinegar bath before it broke in. I have mine in 8" of water.

They may need adjustments, as the manufacturer's water level isn't always accurate. I've always ended up moving it higher or lower than what's in the manual. Or it could just be the skimmer itself. Some skimmers brands, such as AquaMaxx, seem to work within hours. Others may take days to start producing skimmate.

I'd give it a few days and if it doesn't produce anything in the cup, then I'd try adjusting it and looking for microbubbles.
