Another small update,

Scored an open box deal on a reef octo 110sss skimmer today for 150$! Still waiting on the exotic marine baffle kit, but i have been assured my order was not forgotten.

Once that shows up and is installed, i can get to work on ordering the overflow box, finding a return pump, and plumbing.

After that the cycling starts while i take out a second mortgage to buy a light!

Another small update, my baffle kit showed up! and i found out that my skimmer got sent to the wrong town...:mad:

Installed the first two that need to be left for the silicone to cure for at least 10 hours, so i will hopefully be finishing it up tomorrow.

If i measured correctly, i will have 10" of room for the skimmer/heater, and 7" for the return pump section. Planning on a syncra silent 2.0, with the option of going bigger/ running a secondary pump to feed a chaeto reactor, or remote fuge.

Sump is done! leak test in 48 hrs.

Unsure if i will run filter socks, or make some baffle plates to cover the large holes to turn the filter sock section into a fuge. Will cross that bridge when i come to it.

Its 15/32 sanded pine plywood, then 1x3 for the trim.

Yeah i got it at home depot, its just the sanded pine. but i recently built a new computer desk using this stuff,

They do offer a half inch size as well, and it was way nicer to work with. very smooth, mush fewer voids and just overall easier to work with. Its a little more expensive, but if i were to do it again i wouldn't mind spending the money.

So its been a while since ive done anything here. The reef tank looks like it will be on the back burner for a while. Ive recently taken posession of a pair of blood parrot cichlids in need of a new home, and i think that 2 tanks is my limit for what i want to care for at the moment.
