No, this is not my regular rant...Believe it our not, I'm actually hyping my company to start the day. I assure you, I haven't hit my head, I'm not losing my mind, I just figured I'd relay you some good news before I hit you upside the head with another "idiotic" rant!

Since we launched in 2012, Unique Corals has tried to ceaselessly innovate within our business sector, from offering outstanding variety, quality, customer service, unprecedented transparency, and great value (yeah, we've been a bit outspoken, too, from time to time!). By offering a wide variety of corals propagated in our own facility, as well as from others, we've been able to keep costs down on many items, providing you decent sized frags at great prices, as opposed to microchips at hyper-inflated prices. We're reefers. We also live on budgets. This hobby can be expensive. We get it.

One of the things that has frustrated us (and our fellow hobbyists) is the cost of shipping. Paying almost as much for shipping as you do for a piece of coral, especially on a small order...sucks. We've made it a point to offer the lowest flat rate Fed Ex shipping possible ($28), and held the line as long as possible. Still, it was a bit too much for many customers, especially those of you who just wanted to make smaller purchases (under our $200 free shipping threshold). After evaluating our performance, customer feedback, and other factors, we've decided to lower the boom again!

Starting today, we're offering $19 flat rate Fed Ex Priority Overnight shipping anywhere in the continental U.S for orders under $200!

Anyone can talk a good game; we're delivering...literally. By breaking the $20 shipping barrier, we think that more of you will be able to take advantage of our outstanding selection, quality, prices, service, and stand on sustainability.

We thank you for your excellent support and friendship, and we look forward to serving you again soon!

Regards,

Scott Fellman and Joseph Caparatta

This is the way I see shipping costs.... After I burn an entire tank of gas to get to a lfs and feed the kids McDonalds I'm out $50. So it makes perfect sense to me to pay the shipping to get a better variety of things. If you combine tax with the cheaper (normally) internet prices then the shipping pays for itself.

Now on to the new shipping costs.... WOW! $19 shipping? That's really amazing that you were able to get this done. I understand you get discounted because of volume... But I would have to pay at least 3x that to shop with FedEx

I agree with this 100%! I understand shipping costs and by the time I drive to the nearest decent lfs (over an hour away) and back, I'm out time and money. Sometimes I have to wait a little longer to order (and will almost never order just one frag) bc shipping has to be justifiable to the boss (you guys know what I mean, right?), but I get it, and I'll pay to play in most any case for something I've been looking for.

However, $19 is awesome!!! I don't think I'll have any difficulty justifying that now! Going to look at what's available...btw, Scott, did you get my pm?

I am glad that we are able to lower those costs...I do still want to implore all of you to support your LFS whenever possible. As I've written about previously, they are a great institution for so many reasons. We're all about providing value for our customers, as well as selection and service...just like any LFS. Online vendors are just another outlet, and are certainly not meant to replace the LFS. I think there is room for all. I am glad that we can at least lower the barrier for many reefers by putting the lid on higher shipping costs. We will continue to innovate and utilize our strengths to keep costs down as much as possible!

Thanks again for your support!

Wow this is great I get paid Friday you will see an order in for me than!! sending you a quick pm to!

That's amazing!! Did the shipping within Cali drop too?
This.

And WOW. $19 for FedEx? That's an incredible and unheard of shipping price. I don't know how you were able to get the shipping prices at such an unbelievable low, but this definitely opens up doors for a lot of people that can't afford the usual shipping rates.

My problem is finding a lfs worth supporting. Imo lfs should have associates and owners who are knowledgeable in the hobby. Most of the ones around here have about as much knowledge as petco.

WHAT!??! $19 for shipping?? holy moly!!

That is an insanely great deal/price, and if theres a better price for cali peeps, woah! Im in Cali, FYI! ;)

been wanting to get in on some UC pieces for a bit, this makes it that much easier. Good on ya.

That's insane. I may end up spending 20$ just in gas to get to a few of the local fish stores, and that doesn't guarantee I'll find something I want to buy.

Any option for Saturday delivery ? I don't mind pay a little extra for it.
