The Petco tanks near me are always sad, I make a point never to go to that part of the store when I’m in there.

Annnnd that’s why I never go to Petco, for anything.

What’s really sad is these terrible conditions can even work in petcos favor, when hobbyists feel the need to ‘rescue’ the poor fish from unhealthy and even inhumane conditions.

I generally agree about Petco and would never buy any livestock there. But I think it’s different for each store. The one by my house actually has someone who cares about the fish and has isolated HT and QT setup.

The other petco I go to has someone who cares as well. This one they just didn’t seem to know anything

Thats when you go to the register when there are a bunch of customers and real loud say " you got parasites in your tank and need to treat them asap before the fish all die" and see how fast they react with embarrassment.

I did tell a kid that worked there that the tang had ich and those mandarins needed live pods to eat he did seem concerned and said he’d let his manager know. There was no one else checking out when I left or I would have!
