Breeding Pair of Tomato Clown Fish

I have a breeding pair of Tomato Clowns the have been breeding on a consistent basis. The male watches over them faithfully, aerates them and just before the hatch he eats them!

I have a pair of mated Tomato Clownfish that breed on a regular basis. Funny thing is they take care of the eggs dutifully and before they have a chance to hatch they eat them!
Very normal. I have three breeding pair and they stopped eating them but for the longest time enjoyed caviar

Same thing with mine they lay eggs about every 10 days then eat them all as soon as you gan see eyes on the eggs. The lay on a large rock behind a BTA that can’t be removed. Love to hear other experiences.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

Are they laid on anything that can be removed from the parents tank?
No, always on the rock next to the bubble tip they host. I should put a tile in the tank, maybe they would lay the eggs on that.

Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in north east USA:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

You could try to put something for them to lay eggs on but they have a mind of their own haha. They quite like clay pots if you can get one near where they host.
