Bretts 40g breeder build

welcome to my build thread. Soo... take 2. I got the itch again for reefing so I'm starting up my 40g breeder thats been sitting in my room for like a year or so. I'll attach pics soon.

so im deciding on substrate. not sure I want to deal with sand this time around. I think I have some tiles that my family never used. trying to keep this cheap as im young and broke lol!

What type of stone is that? Looks nice!

Oh I see you are working on some kind of budget?? What's a budget? I don't think I can enable in these conditions ;Bookworm;Bookworm;Bored

says in the first pic of the box. Bottichino Tumbled.

I kid you not I have 20+ boxes of them.they have 22 per box. we had them for the kitchen backsplash then changed it.

yes im working on a budget. Im 16 in highschool and flight school and onto of all that im doing college classes on the side and picking up all the work I can lol

so you think those tiles will suffice for substrate? might put a Tupperware in the back corner with sand so I can keep a wrasse or something

They are Marble tiles, I haven't heard of anyone using marble tiles in a tank before, probably because of the price of them...

lol. well they are not getting used here we were just going to throw them out today. no one wants them. sooooo I guess its another one of Bretts craziness

A quick Google search brought this thread up....

Are marble tiles safe?

Sorry if this has been gone over before but I couldn't find it, but are marble tiles safe to use as frag tiles. Its the regular whitish colored stuff with the veines running through it. I've run out of frag tiles and have a ton of those marble floor tiles, not polished just a dull smooth finish...
