Hi,
I was trying out a Refractometer made specifically for brewing beer and wanted to see if it could be used for saltwater aquariums so I tested some water in my aquarium and to my surprise it worked, or at least it seemed to work.
So, I tried my calibration fluid and lo and behold, it registered 35ppt perfectly. Does this mean the Refractometer can be used for marine tanks as well?

I wouldn’t see why not. Just make sure you fully clean it and calibrate it between products.

I think they are calibrated diffferently.
The light is refracted differently in seawater vs alcohol and sugar content from what I understand.
