Congrats! !!!! Ready for more updates in the future

Got a big eye which has been doing well. Also got a flame angel and jewel damsel that died within 24 hours. Suspect issues from store. Water parameters checked ok. I just did a 20% water change yesterday. I got some more rock soaking.

Sucks about the other fish....... the big eye looks good though

I knew I should of quarantined those fish... my yellow tang is now looking terrible. Looks like ick.

I'm sure you already know this, but if you suspect you have ick in the tank you will have to go fallow for a good while or else your doomed. I wouldn't add any more fish until your sure what's going on..

I'm not quite sure. The tang was looking really pale. I thought I saw some white specs but they disappeared pretty quick. The tang is starting to get a little color back.

HLLE may be setting in as well. Check for stray current and if you're running carbon make sure you rinse it thoroughly and that its quality carbon. Feed him plenty of Nori with HUFA supplements/Vitamin C. Since your tank is fairly new it doesn't look like there is much for him to graze on. If spots or other symptom appear it may be best to QT. Extended Copper treatment will also contribute to HLLE. Best of luck.

No carbon or copper. I'd have to check for the stray voltage. But I suspect it's from diet.

Found a second refractometer and checked salinity out. Found the one I was using was a wee bit off. Turns out salinity was at 1.018. I don't know if that could be causing the tangs discoloration? Did a water change about 25% with the same salinity as the tank. I'll bring it up the next couple days.

Yellow tangs are troopers had a tank wipe years ago and only my two tangs and melanurus wrasse survived the other 8 fish died. Did a round of that malaria medicine for 30 days and tank went back to normal. From what I remember when my tangs would stress they would loose color. Good luck.

Its always good to rid the tang of anything and get the tank fallow. Easy now while only a few fish. Any one experienced will tell you that its only a matter of time.

All I have now is the yellow tang. What would be the point in pulling it out to let the tank go fallow then put it back in?

Just because a fish shows no signs of ich, doesnt mean its not in the tank. Theres a good chance there is because most lfs have it in their tanks. Then you can treat the tang proactively and any other addition fish/ coral inverts. so there will be no chance of it.

Feeding time. I believe I can see copepods over the class in spots.
