If you place the 9004 in the overflow chamber you won’t need to adjust the water level.

I tried the 9004 in the overflow chamber, and I found it was awkward to access. So I wound up installing both weirs and installing the skimmer in front of where the filter sock used to be. There’s a picture of the results in my build thread.
