Just acquired the most beautiful maroon clown I've ever seen( my own preference, of course). It's about 2-1/4 inch long and all bright orange, even all of the fins. I understand that most will get darker with age and/or when turning into a female?
My question is: what would help to maintain his color or slow down the color change? I think I also made a mistake by getting a smaller maroon( darker like ordinary maroons)hoping they'll pair up, but actually I "don't" want the bright orange one to turn into a female. Should I separate them? Could some female maroons maintain their bright color?
Thank you!

Definitely post some pics of the newer maroon

Dawn he's not a team player, would not cooperate, lol! Here the best I could do and hope somehow he'll stay the same for a longer time.

Thank you Denise! I'll look it up. I have New life Spectrum but so far he has "not" looked for food on the bottom. Eats flakes and brine shrimps heartly though.

He also loves the spotlight, lol! came out to play once the light came on so I could get better pics.

Still waiting to find out if I should pair it up or not? Any experienced keepers?
