I am trying to get more coral growth and I have heard that using coral amino helps, is that true and if so how often should I use it and I am referring to the Brightwell brand.

I use it, I think its primary function for me has been helping the corals get nitrogen as my system is extremely nitrate limited.

I usually measure .5 nitrates, which is lower then I want. So I dose 8 drops of brightwells coral amino daily in my 85g tital water volume system. However I wad also dosing it when my nitrates were at 12, and would continue to do so unless they got out of control.

It seems to make a difference, a huge difference in conjunction with TM's plus-np/bactobalance/elimi-np carbon dosing system. I use both in conjunction and the benefit is pretty noticeable. I skipped a few days of both and the extension was not as awesome as it usually is.

Edit: I would like to add that I have been trying to determine if coral powedered foods, or ciral aminos help raise nitrates, I haven't been able to observe anything or find answers that are not conflicting.

It is my assumption that aminos assist with nitrogen availability, I do not know for sure that it does.

so does it help with significant growth, my corals haven't been growing to much which I mean could also be my parameters, I currently use all API and I saving to get all Salifert and I would like to also purchase a smart stir.
So I do not dose my aquarium either, I understand the point of checking your parameters to make sure they are good in a certain rang, But how to you know if you need to dose or not?

How long have you had the corals? They can take quite a while to fully adjust and take off it seems to me. I didn't start getting significant growth out of my duncan for 5 months or my candycanes for about 1.

It should help with coral growth, idk if they actually absorb it directly, but it will have a bennefit. Though my assumption is, if you have high nitrates and your system isnt phosphate or carbon limited, the affect will be less so.

What I can say for sure is it is an important part of my dosing, and my growth and extension on what I have is pretty unreal, but it took some time.
