Brightwell coral amino acids

I recently purchased Brightwell Coral Amino acids. The container explains how much to dose whether targeted or broadcast feeding. However, I was wondering when I should dose. Do I dose in the morning before the lights come on? Or do I dose in the evening when I feed once every other day. Or do I dose just before the lights go out? Does it matter? Those of you using the product what advice do you have?

Coralamino dosing questions!

Hi I have a 160g total sw system. It's a mixed reef .... 6 months old system. Started with dry rock. Been dosing 7.5 ml brightwell coralamino.... per week via ATO reservoir. How much do you all dose... per week? What's optimal? My corals aren't encrusted or growing, sticking on their own! Thx

If you are going to target feed, then I would add it to your mix and feed whenever you target feed. That’s probably a separate question related to target feeding and not coral amino specifically. I personally try to target feed when the lights are way down and the corals are actively sweeping. I am an early riser so if I come downstairs at 5am, I’ll do it then when things are pitch black. I’m sure they’ll be other opinions but it just makes more sense to me to feed when they are “hunting” the most... and it makes more sense to me to target Vs broadcast with this stuff so my answer (and it’s just my opinion) is to feed well before lights go on.

I’m gonna ‘bump’ this thread (though I’m not the OP) because I just watched a BRS vid (August 2019) where they broadcast dosed at 10am, just before lights came on. While it wasn’t a truly scientific experiment, the anecdotal response was compelling.

Wondering what others think??? It makes sense to me to target feed this stuff (whatever doesn’t get taken up quickly will enter the water column, which pretty much amounts to broadcast dosing). However I’m happy to be told I’m wrong here, or at least hear additional differing opinions.

I don't know which is best, but I target feed mine by mixing it in with my coral food and feeding just after lights out (or as late as I can stay up LOL).
