Anyone else notice a brown sediment build up from their stock solution?

This happened after 5 days of making the solution. I like the product but this is a buzz kill because I don’t want to make a new solution every couple days!

I am not sure if I used the product wrong or if I should seek a different magnesium supplement for my needs. Does the BRS mag supplement react the same way?

It may be normal based on the impurities in Brightwells product, but it is not normal for all magnesium supplements.

Thank you. I will look into other suppliers. I want something with a little bit more shelf life then 5 days when wet. I was attempting to dose the tank consumption amount daily. Now I’m reading most dose 1-2 times a month.

5 days? The shelf life of any magnesium product is infinite. The brown settling out is probably a benefit since it definitely isn’t magnesium.

real magnesium consumption isn’t more than 2 ppm per day or so, often much less than 1 ppm, usually about a max of 1/10th of the calcium depletion rate.

Man I wish I knew this starting out. I’ll be sure to pass it along to then next reefer and I can also stop testing for mag everyday haha thank you
