Brightwell reef code a and b how do I measure grams?

Ok, So I bought brightwell reef code a and b powder and came home to make my dosing mix. One slight problem they give the amount of supplement to 8oz of water in grams, Has anyone used this and found how much to use with a common dry measure ie. teaspoon tablespoon . Let's face it I'm no chemist and I don't have a digital scale to measure grams...

So what has worked for any of you. I sent brightwell an email. But so far no response. Meanwhile my calcium is dropping as I don't want to OD my tank

Thanks, but grams is a measure of weight not volume as a teaspoon would be. For example a Tespoon of lead will not be the same weight as a teaspoon of flour. That is why I was trying to see what these products weigh per teaspoon.

I guess I will just have to wing it

Just go buy a digital scale that weighs down to the gram and it that way I beleive you can buy them at walmart for pretty cheap

Get a digital scale. For under $20. you can get a decent one. Mine goes to 1/100th of a gram. Want me to weigh a teaspoon and tell you what it is? I just weighed 1 level tsp of kalkwasser and it weighed 3.50 grams.

1 level tsp of calcium chloride weighs 6.97 grams.

1 level tsp of Sodium Bicarbonate weighs 7.42 grams.

So, I don't think this helps you a bit. As there is quite the variance.

Thank you very much I knew there would be a variance. But that is higher than I imagined.

I think I will and then will post my findings in this thread as I have mag powder as well

I'm sure it may help someone in the future. Altough brightwell could have done this "science" from the start
