Brine shrimp and copepod feeding.

Hey everyone!
I am wondering how often you feed your tank with live brine shrimp or copepods.

Is it possible to add too many copepods or brine shrimp?

Any time I've added brine they are gone by the next day. Copepods will reproduce on their own. Depending on tank size and if you have a fish eating them will dictate how often to restock

Assuming you have a fish that consumes them regularly. I have been adding brine shrimp everyday and a little bit of copepods every other day.
Will this cause me a problem?

No problems. I have a 90 gallon with a mandarin. I add pods maybe once a year. As for brine what are you adding them for?

My fish go crazy for them and they are easy to hatch. I gut load them with vita Chem. Is there a problem with feeding live brine shrimp?

There is no problem with adding these. Hopefully you are hatching them yourself and not paying for them. The brine can’t really survive long term though.

I've heard they are low in nutrients. Usually people use them when trying to get picky fish to eat.

I use this easy brine shrimp hatchery dish and under that is copepods in the bucket.

A white worm culture may suit your fish better. Still live food and healthier.

I have not heard of this I will look into it. My clowns and Springeri damsel go nuts for them swimming around my tank though!

@Paul B has the oldest reef tank I know of and swears by them. Adds bacteria for a healthy immune system.

Honestly I had the worst luck with copepods in my tank. I was adding them to prepare for a ruby red dragonet, but it turns out my clowns had quite an affinity for... nice things. They ate all of them in about a week or less.

I'm done listening to my LFS. They have brine shrimp for sale. I bought some before to give my fish a treat. He told me they really don't have any nutritional value, just helps to get fish eating. I'm pretty sure he's the owner too.

I don’t really understand where the idea that brine shrimp are not nutritious comes from. They are quite the miracle food, just ask anyone that breeds fish.

You can never have to many copepods they regulate their own population. I breed them for a living

I breed them are you talking adults or BB? Adults hold zero unless gut loaded . BB on the other hand are probably the ultimate food source
