BRINE SHRIMP HATCHERY DISH and mandarin

Hi guys
I am still thinking about the previous post, pods and feeding dragonet , mandarin
so I found the brine shrimp hatchery dish on reef website,
I was thinking to use it to hatch brine shrimp , and feed the dragonet , what do you guys think? it says I can get an about 100 000 little guys per 0,4gram
so 200 000 guys per 1 gram ( average)
the bottle is 49.6 gram so, I can get 200 k x 49 = a lot of shripms
will it be a good approach?
now, how many little shrimps, or ( grams of eggs) should I use to feed the fish every day?

I'm no expert on Mandy's, but brine may not have enough nutritional value to sustain one. Brine once hatched can move pretty quickly. May be to fast for a Mandarin to catch.

Newly hatched baby brine still have a yolk sack which makes them nutritions. I feed my baby dragon pipefish baby brine. I turn off the return and wave makes and add the brine using a long syringe close to the sand bed or wherever the pipe is. They do not move too much try to place the brine next to the glass they don’t seem to move as much just kind of bounce around while the pipefish eats. Baby Lizzy the dragon pipe

do you feed the dragone every day with it? how many shimps do you put? like 50, 100 a day?

I tried to keep a pod population but the pipe just kept wiping them out. Probably have spent 200 bucks on trying to seed the tank with no luck. I have to hatch brine shrimp daily. It is a lot of work and dedication. I use probably a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon each day. And feeding is a process. I have to hatch more because the other fish in the tank love the live treat. So I feed the other fish and try to distract them and then try and feed the pipe but if the other fish notice what I am doing they come in and scare the pipe and then I have to attempt again. This works for my pipefish however I am not sure if mandarins need to eat all day or two or three times a day like I feed my pipefish. Like I said it is a lot of work patience and dedication

Mandarin will not survive on brine alone, and only the newly hatched with an attached egg sack are the only ones worth feeding on a nutritional standpoint. Unless your going to hatch new brine EVERYDAY, you should be looking into cultivating copepods, not brine shrimp.

I use it, it works great. Not super happy with the eggs I got from BRS though. They dont seem nearly as viable as the eggs I ordered on Amazon from the San Francisco Bay Brand.
