I'm assuming the firm answer is a no, but couldn't find much info elsewhere.

I live in Buffalo, NY on the border with Canada. There is a coral and reef aquarium show happening in a few months just across the border in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Does anyone know the US customs rules regarding bringing any frags I may buy back across the border?

Tagging along. Those corals from Reef Raft Canada sure are super nice and would be worth getting if its allowed.

I'm pretty sure I can call a friend and get that answer [emoji1303]

Per Customs Officer

Most coral, dead or alive, whether in chunks or in jewelry cannot be imported into the US. However, each state's fish and game has different restrictions. He encourages you to ask the US Port of entry prior to bringing them through. There is a potential that they can be brought into the country. Some ports of entry deal with wildlife; while others do not.

Ps. As a former resident of Canada for work; you can try to sneak them in, they don't always search you. And if they do, play dumb and they'll just confiscate them or slap you on the wrist and let you keep them one time.
