Hey,
I'm starting a new tank and working on placement in my house. Option 1 is on the same circuit breaker as my entertainment center (48" TV, cable box, modem and router). This spot has the best viewing for me, which is why I want to put the tank there. Option 2 is out of the way so it doesn't have the greatest viewing, however it is on it's own circuit breaker. Both options are on 20 amp breakers.

The tank I'm planning is a 100 gallon, with two Kessil 700's for the lighting.

You think I can make this work on the same circuit breaker?

Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend a separate circuit for your aquarium. Even though the TV, cable box, modem, and router draw relatively small amperage, I prefer having mine separate. Is there a way to get another electrical pull near the entertainment center?

I run mine on the same circuit as my and my wife’s PC computers and have no issues. I believe both towers have a 750watt power supply in them.

You shouldn’t have any issues on the same circuit as the other stuff.

Other than your power situation, depending on whether or not you have a basement or are on a slab, you may want to consider if where you are putting it can be supported by the floor or if you should support the rafters. With that size tank, you are going to be looking at close to 2000lbs of weight once everything is in it.

Your fine on the same circuit. If your capable replace the outlet with a gfci. If not then you can always use a gfci powerstrip or even replace the breaker with a 20 amp gfci breaker. Current on that circuit should be very low unless you use a window ac unit on that same one during the summer. I personally have the tank on the same as my living room outlets. But I also put a gfci breaker in to cover the whole living room.
