Brissle worms!!!!!!

For those with no bristle worms and worm eating fish. I wonder what you'll find when you break down the tank. Not being snarky. I do wonder.

Try catching the really big ones. I could occasionally catch 2" and smaller sizes. But not consistently. If someone is in my neck of the woods wants them, let's make a deal. Not sure how to catch and hold them safely/keeping them healthy without them escaping.

PS: My tank is a bare bottom type As far as I know there is only one trap on the market.

They are not hard to catch! I have done it in few ways. I have caught some bristle worms that are long as my wrist to the tip of my middle finger to ones that are the size of a needle.
There are few ways to catch em, if you are gentle with your sand bed using a cat scooper. When I say gentle, I mean extremely slow!

Another ways, long tooth pick with tweezers.

I also have seen some people use plastic crate and some PVC for legs. Put their rock on top of the crate and container with water on the bottom. They will fall into the container eventually.

Most time everyone just usually buy worm exit. There are many ways to get rid of bristle worms. Youtube would be your best source.

@scardall Hello, no they do make bristle worm traps as well. I had bare bottoms before and have found bristle worms in my tank. They don't bother me. I like them for 1 reason, keeps my wife's hands out of my tank! :-)

The last statement made me laugh. I'm single and it was still funny. I do have 2 that are at least 4" each as this is what I could see etc. these guys could not even get in to the trap that I'm aware of. As long as they do harm to my fish and or corals I can be ok.

Wondering??? Are Clams in danger at all????

Ok. If they are not fireworms (a small subgroup of bristle worms) then you have nothing to worry about. If you have a population explosion it means you have too much excess waste in your system. This could be over feeding, a dead organism that wasn't removed ect. Once your nutrient problem is solved the population will decrease. There are many natural predators that can also keep populations down. My favorite is wrasses or dotty backs depending on tank setup.
