Look similar but also don’t….Can you get a different pic with maybe a white background?Was doing some small maintenance work and saw these things crawling on my rock. So I dipped the rock into cold freshwater(yeah I know, I probably killed all the good bacteria.) and 3-5 dropped off. Are these bristle worms? And how did I get them. I haven't placed any live new rock/coral since I started my tank, maybe from the fish food/reefroids? Or just one of those life finds away.
That's what my itty bitty baby ones look like....maybe 1/4" - 1/2" long. The bristles aren't pronounced when they are small. They look like lil' earthworms.

Yup, I hate those things! Generally not harmful, but I hate it when they get big so I remove them.

Those are bristle worms, but awfully red. Small ones are usually have more red but as they grow they loose it. There are a ton of different species though.Here are a couple I took out of my tank a few weeks ago. What do you think?
I would need a better picture to verify. I know bristle worms…Lol They used to bother me but don’t anymore. If I pull out of my DT I toss them in my worm tank. Lol

Other possibility is a capitellids commonly known as lugworm which resemble an earthworms and have similar habits

No. Bristleworms (at least that's what I would say). This is how I got confused, if it helps. Vetteguy said the worms were fireworms. I thought he meant your worms were fireworms. He is generally always right, so I thought we were finished with the question answered, until I realized he was talking about me and my worms. So I decided to put up that last picture of them. Did I just make it even more confusing?
