This type of tang is known to be skittish. If you search google you will see others reporting not seeing them. Also the reason for their high cost because they are hard to catch since they are so quick to run away. Mine is the same way. Took a week before it started to eat. Now it eats anything. Mine is fat from staying in qt alone. I had it in a biocube. Please keep up with the water changes I tried a 5 gallon at for ttm with a small fish and the ammonia built up in there quick and killed it within a ttm transfer period. Putting food on a clip has worked well for me. He'll come out and grab some food when I'm not obviously around but run away as soon as he catches the food. good luck!

Here is a pretty neat clip I caught of the Nori-Burrito in action:

It's kind of like a disgusting pinata for fish... Let me know if the link doesn't work.

Yeah. I am definitely concerned about ammonia. Especially with the nori-burrito which is going to be like an organic-bomb in the tank. I plan on moving him to a 30 gallon tank tonight.

Neat! I wonder if the food scared him or his reflection [emoji23]My current kole tang is actually pretty skittish too. I've never had issues with my previous kole or tomini, but this one is much more timid.

That's pretty awesome. I'm wanting one of those cameras now :) I'm going to try a nori burrito tomorrow in the display :) Just to see what happens.

I put way too much "stuffing" in mine. It ended up making a big mess in the tank after he broke it open. Ended up just moving him into the 30 gallon hospital tank rather than trying to siphon out the mess it made. All in all though it worked really well. Definitely got him eating really well!

I think next time I will make it more like a nori quesadilla. Just a very thin layer of stuffing between the seaweed layers.

I will have to see if I can find some more good clips of him going after it.
