So my tank has been up and running for a couple of months now. I finally got a couple of beautiful black and white oscillaris clowns to get things going good for me. The fish and a few hermit crabs is all I have purchased as far as life goes for my tank. I have a crazy amount of hitchhikers that came with my 50 pounds of live rock including asterina starfish, stomatella snails, a nice little feather duster looking thing and enough pods to choke a school of mandarins. I have noticed this bristleworm before a few times peeking out of the rockwork but the other night, he was out in his full glory roaming around the tank. I could not believe how big this nasty thing is but I love it lol. My girlfriend thinks it looks like an alien and you can't really blame her.

I had the same thing with some rock. Took tweezers for weeks and picked them out. Havent seen them in months but i picked a ton out over months. Some fish can help on a small scale

honestly, I am not concerned about it right now...unless I should be? I have read that they only consume dead animals and should not be a threat to any other livestock or corals. My peppermint shrimp on the other hand, i saw him nabbing one of my black stomatellas the other day. Once the video uploads to youtube from my phone, i will show a video of this worm with a full tank shot. Hes probably like 4-5 inches long and super creepy looking poking out of the rocks.

No worries... Bristle worms are actually an integral part of you CUC..
