Have you tried the elmer’s glue trick? Drip it on, let it dry and peel it off. Works great.
All I had today was blue painters tape but it worked really well.

So I was at the LFS last week and a guy wanted to buy some chaeto. The LFS refused to sell it to him because he said he saw a bristle worm in it. The guy laughed and said he didn’t care about that, but he still wouldn’t sell him any. Strange times we live in.I don’t think that is possible

I doubt they can tell the difference any better than all us other non-biologists.
Same store has a 8” achilles covered in ich in their display at the front of the store, maybe get your own house in order before playing algae police.

Oh and my point was… there’s definitely a “bristleworms are pests” trend happening lately. Especially on social media.

I’ve seen a few vids with crazy amounts crawling all over. At that point, they’re a pest.

They are just a natural part of your reef aquarium. They do crawl all over at night.

They are trying to tell you you’re over-feeding and behind on maintenance. Population only goes wild when there’s a food source.

If there are that many bristle worms that they are crawling all over the tank all of the time then something else is wrong. They (like most other fauna), will find an equilibrium based on available food.

Im glad to hear that. Im also glad for this thread. Im terribly sorry op got poked. It looks uncomfortable. I knew bristle worms could cause injury but i didnt know the extent and i just put bristle worms in my gravel to keep it stirred up. I put 6 spaghetti worms in because my tank was started with dry rock my hitchhiker situation is nonexsistant. Ive been thinking maybe ive made a terrible mistake and in a year ill be pulling monsters out left and right. I do feed very heavy but my cuc is very diverse so excess food isnt a concern.
