Hello,

My tank has been fallow (from fish, hermits, corals and snails are still in), having had the need to treat the stock.

Recently I've seen an explosion of these, I definitely have bristleworms in the tank, but these look like they have different antennae.

It's too many and too small anyway to remove, and they seem to be feeding on film algae, but should I be worried for the future?

Thank you!

Looks like a Dorvillidae to me. They have the two front antennae that curve backwards (and I believe two more smaller ones tucked a bit further back). A Eunice worm will have 5 antennae pointing straight outward from the head and arranged in a star-shaped pattern. It's also unlikely you would find a Eunice worm on the glass or anywhere far from its rock hole/burrow. Dorvillidae aren't bad guys.

I have never seen any eunice worms that are on the glass, they usually stay in the sand.

Eunice worms have 5 antenna in a star shape, this worm in the picture doesn't seem to have that.

Pretty sure i have some sort of species of eunice worm in my newly added live rock from indonesia, saw it stick out its head from the top of the rock then jump in, very small species and havent really seen it again even when im lurking with my light waiting, worst case scenario if it grows much larger i just sump the rock for the time being.
