Hey all,

Found this 6 inch long worm in my 20g this morning when the lights were out. I’m aware that bristleworms are beneficial to the aquarium, but I just wanted to have some help IDing it, I am asking just in case it’s a fireworm.

Thank you!

I don’t think it’s a bearded fireworm, but if you still have it a close up look at the head could confirm either way. A bearded fireworm has a distinctive caruncle on its head.

Upon closer investigation the head doesn’t have the caruncle you mentioned. Thanks for the very helpful information, just wanted to be sure!!
