Is this a bristleworm or a fireworm?

I’ve never been able to reliably tell other than the bearded fireworm. Thats best removed. Though in 30 years in the hobby I’ve actually never bothered to try to remove any of them .... Odds are I’ve had fireworms, but if you don’t try to remove them they mostly do no harm.

yeah it seems they don't cause issues for most folks that have them

Looks like the bristleworms that are in my tank. I probably have hundreds if not thousands of them, but I usually only see them at night or after feeding reef roids

Seems like a bristleworm to me too. I hate them as I have been stung by them many times (swells my finger up pretty badly). Some like them though.
