Bristleworms: YEA or NEY

Should I restart my tank to get rid of bristleworms?

Many love them, many hate them. They are NOT welcome in my tank. An arrow crab besides a unique creature will feast on these worms !!

I had a melanaurus wrasse that was eating my bristleworms. I only see them when I lift up a rock in my tank.
I bought an arrow crab who ate a large amount of them, but I returned him to my LFS because he was eating my hermit and other CUC even though I offered him a buffet of bristle worms and crab cuisine pellets for day time feeding. I still have the bristleworms, but they don’t bother me.

Bristleworms may look nasty, but they are beneficial, and their population is self limiting based on the detritus available

They are good for the CUC but I hate finding them in my filter socks and I have not been stung but I hear it’s pretty bad. I wouldn’t say do a reset but probably not bad to keep them thinned out.

I had one in a sock and thought it was a lump of algae. I have the mesh, not the felt socks. I rinse them in a sink with a spray hose. I ended up getting a line of the bristle stuck in my finger which I could see but not feel...yet. I used tweezers to pull them out under running water. They're very soft, not stiff. Afterwards I felt like I had touched a nettle. Not too bad at all, but not pleasant either.

I dread the day this happens to me but I usually wear gloves when I’m messing around in the tank lol
