Anyone know much about this. I've had this frogspawn and its husk kept disappearing. I figured it was asterina stars, dipped it and put it into quarantine. Well it never started looking better. Actually just got worse. So I ripped it apart and find inside a worm, what appears to be worm "poop", and a brittle star (too infant to tell exactly). Does anyone know what the worm is and its propensity to spread elsewhere? Also, what's up with the starfish being in there?

I dont know about the worm, can be a pest, but brittle star should be fine. They might be scavenging on dying tissue... but should not cause any direct harm to frogspawn

Thanks. Yeah the baby brittle was inside was strange. Guess it could just be checking out a crevasse or something. I'm still searching worm stuff and can't find much about this one...

I busted out the microscope for better view. Looks like I ripped his head off but he looks segmented with bristle-like feet

Kinda glad to see the star isnt a problem. Came home with corals from the lfs and had three come off during the dip. Some type of slug came off to and 2 tiny snails. When I got the corals in the tank I still see a star moving around and I think 2 feather dusters though those may be dead after the dip. It's a shame that lfs has the best selection in corals but everytime I dip I find tons of nasties. If I every get my large tank I'll have to turn my 28gal into the quarantine tank and try to eliminate all the pests before going into the display. I'm surprised the one survived but if hes not a problem I'll just leave him be and not stress the coral any more.
