I have a long spinned sea urchin in my sump and a pretty big brittle star in my DT. I want to take the brittle star out of the DT but the closest LFS is over an hour away (and I have no free time). Would it be safe to keep the brittle star in the sump with the sea urchin or would one of them kill the other one?
Thank you

They will be just fine. Out of curiosity; why don’t you want the brittle star? They are great scavengers and if I was close I’d gladly take it
My tank is only 29 gallons big and the brittle star is about a foot long from one leg to another. Sometimes when I get new corals, especially zoas, he'll drag them under his rock, never to be seen again. I also mysteriously lost a pygmy angle and I suspect him. I also want to get a Derasa clam and I've heard they'll eat those. I am just worried he'll eat or try to eat any new additions I add to the tank.

I have heard the green ones will eat fish if they get close enough under them (or if it dies they will scavenge the body). I definitely understand the size thing though, good call. I would suggest checking with your local reefing club to see if anybody wants it, I am sure you could even get some money for it too.

Thanks for the help!! It is just a generic grey brittle star but I still suspect it as the fish killer. In the brittle star's defense, the pygmy angle would always pack at his legs (thinking they were worms or something) and sometimes even swim under his rock. Eventually, he just caught him :(
