Hi friends,

I'm little bit confused here. Please see attached. I'm not sure if it's brittle starfish or bristle worms. I dont think its bristle worm because it's really thin. Should i just leave them be?

#reefsquad help pls :P

Sorry abt the picture quality this is the best I can get

Thanks

Both. Second picture is definitely a brittlestar arm. First and third show bristleworms. Both are beneficial scavengers.

The second photo looks like a brittle star. The rest look like bristle worms. I have found that bristle worms can cause problems in the long run. Don't touch them with your hands for starters.

I see.both as well. Both are beneficial to your tank.

i feel like my bristleworms spreading/populating too fast. i see quite a lot of them. mine is a 15G nano.. should i be concerned? like you guys said if its beneficial then i dont mind leaving them inside but it wont be a pest right?

Cutting back on your feeding will cut back on your bristleworm population.

Bristle worms will proliferate if there is excess food. Reduce the food and they will self regulate. In 30 plus years in the hobby I have never had a single problem with them.
