I’ve recently picked up a decent amount of new frags and was concerned regarding them being so close to each other on my frag rack. Is there typically a rule to follow whenkeeping corals close to each other? I see everyone with amazing tanks with such nice coral placement yet I seem to want to space my corals very far apart.. with 10 new frags and only frag rack I’m running out of spots and during the day when they extend such as acans and whatnot.. they get close to the other frags. Do I keep trying to separate them? Lol it seems they get comfortable extend then I have to move them which irritates them..

Some corals are more agressive than others. Generally speaking, gorals of the same species can be placed touching each other without any problems. Corals with long sweeper tentacles (Euphyllia corals come to mind) cannot be placed near other corals that are not in the same genus.

I would have no worries with your current collection there.
Can I put my acans closer? They seem to get really close when I have them next to each other then they extend and touch it seems.. what will happen with two acans touching?

I don't think there will be any problem there

I have had acan lords for over ten years and have found they are very laid back and don't mind having other friendly coral around them. I currently have 5 different color varieties side by side. Now acan echinata is a completely different story as they will kill anything that gets even remotely close.
The collection you have there would be fine side by side on the frag tray. As your able to I would give them more room to grow. They look good!

I would put all the acans together and put at least some space between them and the others. (Like two inches). You have some stuff right on top of acans and in my experience if they decide to extend feeders at all they might munch on something so close simply because it's there.

Unfortunately the green (monti?) was touching the Acan I had and woke up to the acan all white on one side.... ended up doing some renovating and we’ll see how it all goes from here.
