I bought vertek omega 150 10 days ago , everyones that i know its the best skimmer out there ! construction of the sump is beyond great and the pump its silent ! but it s take time to break in and very hard to adjust since not break in yet and keep overflow . the overall its a beast and producing a bubble super eficiency . it's just take time and pain in the beginning .

ok thanks for feedback , its what i read about it concerning the break in . a fellow reefer runned it in a vinegar solution to break in faster.
did you did that aslo ? how did you break in yours ? thanks

Can't go wrong with either. I own both brands; I like Deltec more. Have no experience with that particular model of Deltec however.

Omegas are beast but they are finicky to setup. A vinegar bath speeds up the process but will still need break-in.

ok thanks , Deltec is well know here in europe , german quality , cheaper than vertex and no break in long issue

I didn't run a vinegar bath , it looks like about to break in . But keep overflowing till now ( almost 2 weeks ) . But fellow reefer in this forum suggest me to lower the water level to 5,5 to 6 . The factory recommend 7,5 to 8 . I'm gonna try it tomorrow. Good luck choosing your skimmer

LOL :D yeah , reef octopus pvc just smashed on floor . i balance for the vertex just still worried about break in . yeah i heard about the nyos but small collection cup
