ugh......noticed today that my 6025 was rattling around, turned it off.......then back on......and it wouldn't even start.

i opened it up.......and to my surprise (well...not really surprised), the shaft fell out.......AGAIN.

to say i'm really annoyed with this problem is an understatement, this was my 3rd set of replacement nanostreams from tunze. now i'll need a 4th set, and i havent even had the pumps for a year.

i should have seen this coming though, as i saw the shaft rusting about a month ago. but was told these were the "new" and improved shafts from germany.

this represents a major problem too.......b/c although the customer service is great, and the turn around in shipping the broken pumps back, and getting the new pumps takes a little over a week. before i wouldnt have too much of a problem as i could just pop some MJ's on the side of the tank until the mean time.

but now i have a huge eurobrace, so the only way to put a pump in the tank is via a strong magnet. so i guess i'll have to go out and either buy new tunze pumps while waiting for replacements, or go buy some expensive magnets to hold MJ's up on the side of the tank.

any ideas?

Ditto on the broke again. I have gone through 4 impeller assmeblies and the brackets that hold the pump in place. UGGG

This is nothing new.. I had the 6025 and it broken with a few months ,I use the 6045 and no problems ,,go figure

i know this is nothing new......as this is my 3rd set that has broken since last november.

i just wish tunze would fix the darn things instead of trying to replace one cheap part with another cheap part in order to save a buck in hopes it works.

Tell tunze you want to trade them for a stack of their algae magnets. Super Glue the MJ1200 to them. They work and hold like a charm.

i really like the flow that comes off the nanostreams though. :(

I know what you mean. It's strange, I haven't had any problems with my tunzes but I've had both of my modded MJs crap out on me. The impeller on them just started rattling back and forth and won't go around.

I wonder if the shaft from MJ mod will work on the tunze? They're fiberglass or carbon so you won't have corrsion probs.
