Pics from today

I want my tank to be like yours some day!
Aww, thanks. It’s looking better and things are growing again. I’m very happy with it right now. I definitely need to add some more fish to increase my Nitrates. I’ve decided to get a bunch of smaller fish to have more movement. Picking up a hammer frag and some blue zoas tomorrow.

Got some new fish on Friday. Fish are in QT now and started PraziPro. Got a Mimic Lemon Peel Tang, Diamond Goby, Yellow Watchman Goby, 3 Firefish and a new Cleanup Crew. I’ll set some pics tomorrow.

Firefish! Love them but I've never gotten them through QT.

How’s the sail fin tang in a 75g? No aggression or anything? I’ve read online that they’re recommended for much larger tanks. I have a 75 so I’m curious :D

I've made a bit of progress this week. STILL HAVEN"T FINISHED CLEANING IT YET, so don't judge me! ;)

I bought a used AquaticLife T5 fixture and a new SCA-301 In-sump Protein Skimmer.

Installing the light fixture was pretty simple. I removed the old reflectors from the hood, then added a wooden rail on each side to support the new fixture. This allows me to slide it in and out easily. There are already vent holes cut in the hood that line up with the fixture.

My son & I crafted a stand for the protein skimmer out of egg crate. I will most likely remove 1 row from the bottom to lower the skimmer as it is sitting in about 6" of water now and I think it should be a bit lower.

I also received a power center that I need to get mounted underneath the cabinet.

So plans for next week are to figure out how I'm going to mount electrical, dosing pump, dosing containers and ATO container. Once that's all figured out I'll clean the sump area and spray it with white Flexseal and then mount everything. Stay tuned!

Are the outlets in the back of that power strip? Did you have to make a small rectangular hole to slip that through?

Yes, there are outlets on the back. No, mounted 2 small pieces of wood on either side of it and mounted it to them.

Wow, the tank looks good!!

New additions - 3 Firefish, Mimic Lemon Peel Tang, Yellow Watchman (not pictured), Tubbs Green Birdsnest, Green Bali Slimer, Purple Milli, Bubblegum Digitata, Garf Bonzai

I had an issue with my QT. It went thru a bacterial bloom. I’ve never had that happen before so it freaked me out. The water was milky white and the fish were having issues breathing with the oxygen being depleted so quickly. I already had a lot of flow and a huge airstone in there, so my only solution was to move the fish to my display tank. They’d already been through 2 rounds of PraziPro and all looked really good, so I wasn’t too worried. (Still would have liked to run them through a month of copper, but it is what it is..) So far everyone is doing great in the new tank - no fighting between the tangs!
