I have just gotten back into the hobby after 10 years out. I have a 20 gallon with 1-2” sand, dry rock, AC 30, XP Aqua sumpless ATO, and a Mars Aqua 165w LED. In a span of two days Brook killed my two clownfish, my clown goby, and my geometric hawkfish. Today is day one of no fish in the tank. How long before I can add fish again?

I’m so sorry to hear about your fish. That’s so heartbreaking.

Fallow period for brook is 6 weeks.

We have a really helpful Fish Diseases forum here with some stickies that are incredibly educational and a helpful read.

I did some research and it said 4 weeks plus. Might as well just start fresh again since it’s a small tank.

Thank you for your responses I will wait until mid May just to be careful. In the meantime I will be setting up a proper QT tank!

Sorry for your losses :(

Good approach, IMO!
Welcome to Reef2Reef.

You’ve got me wondering if adding a starter of pods would improve your system while you wait? Thanks for posting the situation. :)
