One of my clownfish died and I couldn’t see anything on him but I looked at my other clown to see this. So I went looking through the forums and trying to identify what this is, but I could only guess it’s early brooklynella? Any help is appreciated, if it is what store treatments can I go buy, or order from Amazon?

This may be protozoan opposed to brook. Can you furnish a pic under white lighting to confirm ?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Looks like it could be Brooklynella starting up. However, the other clown, not showing symptoms like white mucus, must have died from something else.

Is this fish eating well?

You could try ruby reef rally pro, but you should get the treatment started right away.

Seems to progressed from yesterday and the fish has no appetite today.

How long have you had the clowns? The experts above have you covered.. I like to observe and learn from them :) another question have you started treatment yet because if not then stop what your doing and get them babies some medicine. Sorry for your loss but welcome to R2R hope you find everything here that your heart desires!

The second photo does seem to be Brooklynella. That is difficult to treat. I like to use formalin, but that is toxic to people and difficult to source. the next best treatment would be Ruby Reef Rally Pro - a high dose 3 hour dip and then added to the display tank itself at a lower dose. You'll need to start that today, and you may not have a store near you that carries it.

In a pinch, you can give the fish a 5 minute freshwater dip, but that doesn't always work and if it does, it just buys you a little time at best (perhaps 24 hours).
