Brown “algae” ID request

I had a large snail die in my nano a few months back and since then I’ve been struggling with this brown “algae”. Frequent water changes, UV and Dr Tim’s additions don’t seem to have any effect whatsoever. I’m curious if it’s obvious to anyone and if so, what eats it?

This is a dead form of GHA which is lacking nutrients which is a good thing.
What is your phosphate level?
By chance are you using tap water from the faucet or RODI water?
Is your tank at or near a window?

Pull off as much as you can by hand and reduce white light intensity and number of hours of white lighting and add some snails such as :
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus

A Pencil urchin

8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits
