I just bought this acropora humilis, what are the chances that the base colors up? With a lot of TLC and hope of course. Or did I just buy a brownie? :squigglemouth:
Thanks in advance

Hello, I picked up a Humilis similar to that one and have it placed midway with a good amount of flow and light. Some corals are meant to be brown but your Humilis looks much like mine and should color up with proper care. Although mine was blue when I got it, it still has maintained a nice blue with decent growth. Give it some time and it should color up. This is what mine looks like and you can look forward to:

Thats great news Sonny! your Humilis looks amazing.
Kinda hard to find any around here, do you know of any online venders /r2r members that are selling humilis.
Hopefully with some time mine will color up! :D

The Humi is coming this week, I'll take some shots every week and see if there's any color progression. heres to hoping. :P

I picked up one last month and dipped it in TMPCC and that browned it out. Still now signs of the color comeing back. Its a great coral though.

TMPCC is some harsh stuff. I stopped using it after I picked up a bottle of Revive. Revive has worked better for me and is much less damaging to corals. I have yet to have a coral die or brown out from dipping a coral with Revive.

Here's the Humilis arrived at my friends house, dipped and happy, sitting in the back. Can't wait till I pick it up this weekend. Hit it with some zeo products and see what happens!

My experineces with this coral have been it needs ULNS to be really colorful. Otherwise you just have the brown body with blue highlights. Anyone else?

Then there's hope! I run a full zeovit system tank with a 160 SWC cone skimmer on a 40g breeder setup. :nerd:

I have started to use Coral Rx now. Hasnt browned out anything and the frags seem to be pretty unfazed.
