Within three days I've noticed this grow and cover all my rocks and parts of my sand. I heard by having an irregular lighting schedule can trigger algae growth. I want to get rid of it how can I?
Thanks

Diatoms.
They will just go away when silicates are used up. Make sure your using rodi water.

This tank is very new, add your livestock very slowly. Your going to see a few different algae blooms over the next year or so. Just be patient and do a lot of research.

So basically let it run its course. Should I try to suck it off with a siphon or something?

It's called the ugly stage for a reason-lol. 100% normal. Once the silicates are all used up, the diatoms will die out. Not much to do about but be patient. [emoji2]
