I have this annoying brown algae keeps coming back every time i turn my sand. Is it something I'm doing wrong with my lights? pretty sure is 10h on fades moon lights for 2 hours and then turns off for the night. What are some good clean up crews to keep your sand clean?

Pic help id the algea.

Ya few more details +1
Lots of good CUC you can get to help disrupt sand. What do you mean by turning sand over and how often are you doing this?

Yeah what are some good little guys to clean my sand! And I just take something's and move all the algae under the top layer like kinda just mix up the sand bed and I do it 1 or 2 times every week

I have the same problem. My tank is over a year old, and even with zero phosphates I keep getting brown small patches on the newly turned sand bed... This is due to silica present in the sand. Diatoms will feed on it and unfortunately some types of sand have lots of that substance.

It's ugly, I wish my sand stayed white too... I syphon the sandbed every two weeks so I keep it as clean as I can
