I have had my tank for about a year little more now and I get brown hard encrusted algae which is more green/brown than brown, i figured its normal but this looks like A LOT more than what I get. Mine gets in the scratches of my glass and wont come off with my magnet cleaner. I have to use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to get the algae out of the scratch marks. Are your parameters in check? Can you get it off with a regular cleaner? Does it look the same lights on / off and does it receed at all after your scrape it off? How long untill it grows back?

i get that down by my sand bed where i dont scrub the glass as to not stir up debris. i take a glass scraper to it once a month.

Yea, Green Dust Algae. Seen it many times before, it acts like Coralline, hard to get off the glass but its not Coralline.
