Brown Algae ID? Diatom or dino

Seems to be like clearish/light brown algae on my live rocks and I'm trying to figure out if it's diatom or dino. This picture below is a good idea of what it looks like. Any suggestions on what it is as well as how to remove it would be appreciated!

I have something very similar, maybe the same? Mine tends to start growing away from the light and eventually shows up around the rocks edges. If I get a good hold of it with my fingers and peel it back slowly, it comes off reasonably well.

Because it starts and seems to do well under the rocks and under the pipes of my return lines, I suspect it may be a bacteria bloom of some kind?

Yes I might take out some of the rock and brush it off manually tomorrow.

I'm going to try pulling some out of the tank today and even pull a few small rocks and frag plugs out for treatment. I'll dip them in 3% hydrogen peroxide (store bought) and put them in my 5g holding tank to make sure it kills whatever this is.

I'll try for a good photo of it in the tank.
