Probably diatoms. Looks like a relatively new set up . Do they go after lights out??

Brown algae ( most probably diatoms) is how the life goes. You just started your journey to mature tank, you are at the beginning though and this road is treacherous. Reading posts and advice on R2R forums will help you to navigate it.

Algae is life... So it's a good thing. Algae covers your glass and you have to clean it - So it's a bad thing.

You can't having a living reef tank without it.

Keeping it in check with proper practices rather than a regiment of constant chemical doses is the challenge.
