I have a bloom of brown algae on my rocks and glass. It's firmly attached (needed a razor blade to get off the glass) and it's not showing up on the sand bed. Any suggestions?

Tank started Dec. 19, did RedSea start up kit (added bacteria). Salinity 1.025, T 80 pH 8.4 Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate all 0, phosphate 0.1 Alk 7. Residents are clean up crew, peppermint shrimp, two corals (long tentacle plate and toadstool). No fish yet.

I do have a skimmer, although I still struggle with getting the setting right.

Thanks

Do you happen to have any pictures?

Here's today's tank picture: (sorry it's a bit overexposed).

Did you want a close up? I can scrape off the glass and pop it under the microscope if that would help.

Diatom Bloom, especially the stuff on the glass. It will go away on its own, in time.

Yea just algae, +1 on beginning stages. Cleans easily off glass and you can kinda go at it with a toothbrush on the rock. Just be sure to clean your media, sock, whatever you use so the water doesn't keep cycling through it.
