Sorry i left a part out ive been running a 36w jebao UV sterilizer for about 2 weeks now and it hasnt done much

Is it your sump or display...I would recommend hanging it st night direct in your display tank...I dont know how big your tank is but like I said work on 1w for every 3 gal ....I have a 36w on my 90g
If your dinos are disappearing at night its because they go into the water Colom at night so UV should affect them ...also it's important how slow the water is passing through the UV...the slower the beter ..then theres more water contact with the UV light for longer

Its just from what you said neglect , Ish gotta outa whack , once your skimmer stops pulling that black ish out it will calm down, I had an incident once where I let the level go to high in my sump , and hadnt cleaned the skimmer out , and it all went back in like months worth of poopcrud , instantly my DT had this on the sand , ran skimmer 24/7 for few weeks and cleared up again.

Rodi unit from aquaticlife. I changed out the 4 cartridges like a month ago. I know my tap is around 40tds

The way how im plumbing my uv is i T’ed it off of my return pump and have the output but to the return section. I did it this way bc my lfs said that thats the most effective way but I kinda questioned it bc i thought that would be just recirculated the water that was already sterilizer over and over but they said thats wrong.

Also i did a 10 gallon water change and O M G they got a lot worse then when i had posted this thread.

One problem at s time ....first get your nitrates under control ..then adress the dinos ...hang your UV direct in your tank at night

what do you mean hand your uv direct in the tank?

Hang not hand....I mean if your UV is set up in your sump ,take it out and set it up in your display tank ....if you check out my thread "Mack's reef ....around I think May or June from this year I posted photos of how I had mine and how I dealt with my 3 types of dinos I had in my tank ..

Im afraid so..but you only need a small pump ..I use one I use for mixing my water
