So I am currently cycling my tank and this is week 2. This brown algae, is taking over my tank. I read up on it, and it’s saying my cycle is coming to an end. But how can I get rid of this brown stuff. It is very ugly n what should I do? Thank you

I wouldn’t worry about the brown stuff. Probably diatoms; maybe algae. Either way it’s completely typical for a new tank, and just goes away on its own.

As tanks mature, they grow all kinds of stuff. Mostly it’s harmless and goes away. Red stuff, green stuff, brown stuff. Fuzzy, hairy, whatever. If you notice a lot of brown stringy stuff with bubbles in it, read up on dinoflagellates. If everything gets coated in red gook, read up on cyano. Some cyano is normal. Dinos, less so, although a bit of something here or there that looks like dino isn’t the end of the world. .

exactly same thing- I turned my light son this morning to a clear tank and came home to a super brown algae tank. water change and no more white lights it looks like. My 5 gal nano went through it and its very slight now in that tank. Ok so looks like low lighting- blues.
