I have had my tank around 6 months. I just added more live sand to it as it had thinned out. Now I have brown algae growing. How do I get rid of it?

Siphon and reduce white intensity a few days
The brown associated from new sand is from silicates in the sand
Adding snails will help reduce such as:
Nassarius
Ceruth
Nerite astrea

Just keep on top of maintenance, clean your filters regularly, gets your hands in and clean.
Pictures would help but honestly you can not beat hands in cleaning :)

I did a full clean today, scrubbed the walls and filters. Added new filter medium and siphoned. Hoping this will help along with reducing the lights for a few days
