I'm not an expert with algae but I traded a guy some stuff for rock. I ended up redoing half my rockwork and the rock was super white like yours but not its turned brown. Not really an issue to me but would love to see what others have to say.

So I'm just going to bump this to see if any other members can comment

It looks like Diatom which is normal from what I know in starting a new tank it’s part of the cycling if I’m not mistaken and most likely a good sign but they are ugly and spread like crazy.
They feed on silicates you get a lot of silicates in tap water and can lead to big outbreaks

Top off your evaporated water with RO if you can that will help control outbreaks and you go darker a few more hours with the lights that’s a temporary fix though it can and most likely go away on its own but outbreaks can happen even in established tanks.

Your tank is brand new and going to go through all sorts of changes...and uglies.... Let the tank take its course and cycle and mature. As you see more green algae, start introducing some snails to eat it. Go slow!

Good Luck with your new tank!!

Thanks everyone greatly appreciated I will go slow as my first every saltwater tank and I dont wanna screw it up
